CHARITABLE GIFT PLANNING
At the Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges, there are meaningful ways to create a lasting impact that invests in the future of our students and college community. Whatever your connection — alumnus, retiree, faculty, employee, or friend in the community — there is a special place in our hearts for Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges.
Through charitable gift planning, there is an opportunity to support a variety of campus programs, student scholarships, or the Change Makers program — an unrestricted fund that directs funding toward the highest needs. Many donors endow funds, allowing a gift to live on in perpetuity.
Regardless of how you make your planned gift, we strongly encourage you to make the Foundation aware of your plans to ensure your gift is honored as you intended.
GIVING OPTIONS
Gift of Retirement Plan
Name the Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement plan. You remain in control over the assets while living. Simply change your beneficiary form with your plan administrator and notify us.
Gift of Securities
Transfer appreciated securities held longer than 12 months directly to the Foundation. Receive a charitable income tax deduction for their full fair market value and avoid capital gains tax liability.
Gift of Life Insurance
Name the Foundation as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Contact your policy administrator for a beneficiary change form.
Charitable Gift Annuity
In return for a gift of cash or appreciated securities, receive a fixed annual income for yourself or another beneficiary. Includes a charitable income tax deduction. Minimum age: 75 years.
Gift from Your IRA
If you are 70½ years or older, use your traditional IRA to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). Your gift counts toward your required minimum distribution for the year.
Donor Advised Funds
A donor advised fund (DAF) gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to the Foundation.
The preceding information is for educational purposes only. When considering charitable gifts, you are urged to seek the advice of your own financial and legal advisors about your specific situation.
